O. Kaya is a Los Angeles-based painter working primarily in oil on canvas. His work combines classical technique with a contemporary sensibility, using dramatic contrasts of light and shadow to create scenes that feel both intimate and theatrical.
He is drawn to the tension between what is visible and what remains hidden. His paintings often explore the emotional weight of revelation and concealment — moments where figures seem to emerge from, or dissolve back into, darkness.
Kaya’s approach is informed by a background in film and psychology, which influences his sense of composition, atmosphere, and psychological charge. He has exhibited at Petit Ermitage in West Hollywood, including the 2026 solo presentation Between Light and Shadow. He maintains an active studio practice through House of Kaya.
